2NE1 talks about when they feel the most and least confident

The ladies of 2NE1 are now famous in the K-Pop industry for their confident style, but they still managed to turn quite a few heads when they came out with “Ugly“.
In their interview with OSEN, the girls were asked if they ever felt ‘ugly’ like in their lyrics. Fans were surprised to read Dara’s answer, who laughed, “Yes, when I’m wearing a feminine style. I’m always dressed like a man on stage, so I feel a loss of confidence when I’m wearing more feminine styles.”
Bom replied, “I don’t specially feel ugly or anything, but I don’t have confidence when I get my song wrong.“

Minzy said, “I feel that way when I’m trying to improve and advance, but when it’s not going out the way I want it to.”
CL said, “I don’t feel especially ugly, but I do get into a slump sometimes. Like the lyrics of ‘Ugly’ state, I do feel lonely at times.”

In reverse, the girls were then asked for the time where felt that they were amazing. Bom said, “When I’m singing.  I love singing and I’m the most confident in it.”
Dara agreed, “It’s easy for me to feel confident when I’m on stage. The shouts of our fans thrill me and I truly feel like I’m the best for the three minutes I’m on stage.”
Minzy expressed, “When I’m dancing to my solo part”, while CL said, “If I don’t feel confident on stage, then the people that are watching and listening to us won’t feel it either. I have to be the best on stage so that the audience feels the same way. I go up on stage thinking that I’m going to be the best.”

Dara and Dadoong

Dara seems to be a pet lover. In this photo, which she recently posted on her me2day account, she is proudly holding ‘Dadoong’, wich is BTW, Thunder’s kitten. Thunder first introduced Dadoong to her sister a few days ago, and the kitten doesn’t seem to like Dara at first. But due to Dara’s determination, she was able to get close to Dadoong. She posted, “Dadoong and I are close now, meow meow. I want to try and take him our place soon, but because he’s still a baby, he still needs a lot of attention and care“.
Same happened to Minzy’s puppy remember? Dara, why don’t you get your own pet?

Our very own Dara posted this sweet and adorable photo of her posing with younger brother, Thunder of MBLAQ. She wrote, “Taken after ‘Hate You‘ and ‘Ugly‘ first broadcast. ’Dog Poop’(affectionate nickname) was in the waiting room next door. For the first time in a long while, I wasn’t an embarrassing nuna to ‘Dog Poop’ today! It’s awkward for me like this, but I think it’s okay once in a while as an event.”
Upon seeing this photo, it made me smile. I can feel the closeness and love between siblings in them. How I wish I can have a brother too!
2NE1 is now promoting ‘Ugly’ and ‘Hate You’ while MBLAQ is promoting ‘Mona Lisa’.

This is my thought of the MV:
When I posted this video, I did not watch it yet, I was able to watch it later on, and because it seems I wasn’t able to grasp the story, I watch it again. When I watched it, specially the first part, I thought there was more to it than four bounty hunters chasing a criminal. But then boom! The video ended by killing the criminal. I wasn’t able to control the urge to comment, so I posted my comment on YouTube regarding the matter. Well, when I was watching the part when the villain had an encounter with Dara, they looked in each others eyes and it seems there’s something there. Like a connection or something. I don’t know. The girl even looked so helpless when the four are chasing her.
I thought the story goes like this: ‘She was once one of them, and for some reason, she walked out and went her own way. And then their Big Boss released an order to kill her because she betrayed them, and sent her former allies. But then, since they had been together for a very long time and they really are close friends, I thought the four won’t kill her and just let her go’.
But they killed her mercilessly. I can’t even relate the part when she transformed into a gigantic monster when Bom shot her, then turns back to her original form when Minzy shoots her again. And when she’s back to her poor self, CL even  kicked her with a ‘Serves you right’ expression.
Since I couldn’t contain my curiosity why the MV turned out like that, I googled and binged for the translation of the lyrics, but for heaven’s sake, I couldn’t even find a decent translation! So I guess I’m still left with a question of a big WHY?.

Oh, so Minzy’s puppy is named Dougie. That really put me into a lot of thinking guessing the name of her puppy, kekeke. Turned out it’s the most common name for a dog. LOL! Her puppy is really cute.
