Hallyu star Jang Geun-suk will grace the cover of the August issue of
popular Japanese fashion magazine MEN’S NON-NO, making him the first
Korean celebrity to do so.
A press release from his agency YTree
Media on Tuesday announced that the issue featuring Jang as the first
Korean cover model for MEN’S NON-NO will hit stands on August 10, while
it will contain various pictures of the actor showing the masculine and
childlike sides to him.
“Jang had this strong ability to focus
where he would be dancing to his favorite song during break yet immerse
himself once the shoot began,” an official from MEN’S NON-NO was quoted
as saying.
The actor was previously chosen as a cover model for Japan’s anan magazine in March which sold over 280,000 copies.
Making
his debut as a catalog model at the early age of five, Jang has starred
in a number of hit TV series such as SBS’ “He Beautiful” and “Marry Me,
Mary.”
He also made his singing debut in Japan with the release
of the single “Let me cry” which had topped Oricon’s weekly chart and is
currently working on film “You’re My Pet (translated title)” alongside
actress Kim Ha-neul.
He is currently on his six-country Asia tour
which kicked off in late April where he so far met with fans in
Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Taiwan. He is scheduled to
take the stage at Shanghai.
